Thoughts on Prayer
“ Whenever God determines to do a great work, He first sets His people to pray”
                                                                                                 C.H. Spurgeon
PRAY FOR THE WORD OF GOD TO SPREAD THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITIES
 Colossians 4:2-4 (NIV)
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.
4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.
2 Thessalonians 3:1 (NIV)
1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.
PRAY THE WISDOM OF GOD
Philippians 1:9-11 (NIV)
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,
11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God.
PRAY FOR GOD’S PROTECTION AGAINST THE ENEMY OF OUR FAITH

2 Thessalonians 3:2-5 (NIV)
2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
4 We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command.
5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.
PRAY FOR OUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Ephesians 1:17-19 (NIV)
17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
